This version fixes several issues including a possible StackOverflow.

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last year. QT Sync and Folder Splitter are projects which I developed during my university time (which means I had a lot more free time back then).
Nowadays I am working as a re-recording mixer in a german dubbing studio (which means a lot less free time :-)
QT Sync and Folder Splitter are still in development and I will try to fix all problems, but I am not sure when I will find the time to add a lot of new features. Thanks for your understanding.

There was a small issue with the Movie Combiner which has been fixed in this update.

These releases will fix the graphical issues with Leopard.
QT Sync also adds Matroska support and some new features for the TC Inserter.
There are also some bug fixes for Folder Splitter and its 1.0 release is coming soon.

Good news! My tests did not reveal any major problems with QT Sync and Folder Splitter. There are some minor graphical glitches which will be addressed in a future update.
Folder Splitter in particular suffers from "re-drawing issues" which become visible when multiple windows are open and/or the application is put into the background. (The toolbar icons and interface element will look "solarized", i.e. too much contrast and without the OS X-like shadows.)
But: These graphical issues do NOT affect the functionality of Folder Splitter in any way.

Today I updated the website with a new look. The info for the applications have been merged into a single page for each product and I also redesigned the Navigation Bar. The headlines of the latest news will be shown on every page.
I also dropped the german translations for the website. (But manuals are still available in german.)
I hope you like the new layout ! :-)

The latest release of Folder Splitter features a re-designed User Interface, a Preview Option, multiple Language Support and a way to handle Aliases and invisible Files.
The internal engine has also been re-written and this should make it easier to add new features in the future.

I finally have an Intel Mac to test QT Sync, so this update fixes some problems on Intel Macs (MouseCursor not invisible when in Full Screen, Volume Change not working properly).
Other fixes include the Static Text Inserter and the Application Crash, when trying to crop a movie with a Text Track.
The "Combine Movies" Function is now able to set In and Out Points for the source movies and also has a nicer look now.
Finally I fixed a problem on Macs with OS 10.3 to 10.3.8. The app should start without problems on these systems now.

Some of the Menus and Dialogs were in German. Switched back to English now.

Mac OS X 10.4.9 was released yesterday and the update broke the function of the spacebar (to play and pause the movie). This has been fixed.

A few new features:
- The Crop Window now remembers all the settings and the Crop Preview has now a "Cache" Mode.
- The Behaviour of the Numerical EditFields in the TC Inserter and Crop Window has changed:
Click in the Numerical EditFields. Use Arrow Up/Arrow Down to change the value +1/-1.
Use SHIFT+Arrow Up/Arrow Down to change the value +10/-10.
Click the Arrows at the side of the EditFields to change the value +1/-1.
Hold SHIFT and click the Arrows at the side of the EditFields to change the value +10/-10.

Finally: QT Sync is a Universal Binary now !

Also a few keyboard shortcuts have been changed, because the CTRL-Key will be used for "Spaces" in Mac OS X 10.5.
Other than that there are some new features and a few bug fixes. Please see the Version History for more details.

In Full Screen Mode, by using the shortcuts for Half Size, Normal Size, Double Size or Fill Screen, the size of the full screen picture can be changed now.

I'm very happy to announce that qtsync.com is now mirrored by one of the world's premier mirror sites: PlanetMirror.

By using this service, it will be possible to choose another, more convenient archive type for the distribution of QT Sync: Instead of the StuffIt Archive, QT Sync will be available in a Disk Image (.dmg).
Advantages of the Disk Image are: Low error rates and no third-party software needed.

As some of you may already know, QT Sync was accepted to be the topic of my diploma thesis. After almost one year of work the thesis is finished now and I will have my colloquium in two weeks.

- QT Sync seems to be fully compatible with 10.4.
- QT Sync also has no problems with QuickTime 7.
But: Due to changes in QuickTime, QT Sync behaves a little bit different:
When you change the video offset of a movie fot the first time, the movie might freeze for a second.
When you change the offset of a movie, it will take up to several seconds until the offset is actually changed.
When press "0" during Full Screen play, QT Sync reacts slower. (I'm working on a fix for that.)

Combine Movies has been completely rewritten.

This is basically a Bugfix release. Please refer to the Version History for details.

It seems, that some people received emails from qtsync.com, containing a virus.
To be clear: The sender address of these mails has been altered. They are not coming from me. (My email accounts are not even capable of sending out emails. They are just forwarding adresses.)
In case you received such a mail: Do not open the attachment, throw it away and use an Anti-Virus application to ensure that your computer has not been infected.

In the last three months I was very busy and didn't have much time to continue the development of QT Sync. I worked in Slovenia and will be there until March 2005.
After that I will continue the programming and I hope to have a new version ready in April.
Thanks for the donations which have been made so far. It's really appreciated !

Compatibility Info:
I wasn't able to fully test the compatibilty of QT Sync with Mac OS X 10.3.6 and 10.3.7. (Although I don't see any reasons why QT Sync shouldn't work with these OS X Updates.)
If you have any problems, please let me know !

Exporting to a self-contained movie sometimes made the app crash. Fixed now. (Thanks Ken!)

A new version with several new functions:
- Combine Movies which have been splitted into several parts
- Import sound or QuickTime text tracks
- Info Window shows codec information
- In Full Screen Mode hit "T" to show elapsed movie time or movie time left
- Some cosmetic changes (You will like it :-) )
- Bugfixes

Today's update is a big one:
- QT Sync can now also the change the duration of the tracks. This is really useful, when the beginning of the movie is in sync, but the end is not (or vice versa.)
- Lots of bugfixes: e.g. QT Sync can now open movies from locked volumes, will handle filenames longer than 31 characters correctly and display framerates properly.
- There are also a lot of cosmetic changes and other improvements. Please read the Version History for a full list of changes.

Version 0.2.0 will be out soon. But here is another Update for 0.1.0: A Movie was not opened properly, when the first track of the movie was not a video track.

I haven't received a single bug report, so I assume that QT Sync 0.1.0b5 is running stable :-)
Working on version 0.2.0 is in progress. There will be several improvents and new features. (Among other things you will be able to change not only the offset, but also the duration of individual tracks.)
In addition the web site moved once again (hopefully for the last time). You can find us now at www.qtsync.com. The "old" address www.qtsync.de.vu is still working.

QT Sync 0.1.0b5: English manual included.

QT Sync 0.1.0b4: I skipped the b3 :-)
b4 has several improvements, more shortcuts (e.g. shuttling) and a "Change Ratio" function. Now you can permanently change the size and the ratio (width to height) of the movie. (This could be useful for .dv files and movies with rectangular pixels (16-9 DV, some MPEG2-formats, etc.)
